Skip the New Year, bring on the love

I am looking at a box of Valentine decorations and thinking how much I have grown to adore this simple holiday over the past couple of years. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer Autumns cool breezes and harvest to February and the final freeze out before spring blooms anew but I am really starting to appreciate it. So, since I have never really celebrated New Years with the exception of eating pickled Herring and watching the ball drop, I am excited for Valentines day. I am thrilled for an opportunity to embrace all that is romantic and whimsical, and I am wondering why I didn't get behind it long ago since I am a VERY romantic person. You get that way reading Shakespeare at nine. Anyway, you will not see any New Years resolutions glaring at you, I made them months ago, and there will be no fireworks for backgrounds. Nope, all you will get from here on out is fanciful dreaming, poetic remembrances of love both present and past, and a myriad of music in support of this new beloved Holiday. In a final attempt at good will I will offer you this though-Happy New Year! Now go rent a romantic movie will ya!
