I want my mommy!

Or somebody elses pampering mother. Three weeks ago we got called into the nursery for our church, and we were excited about it since our little one would be in there in March anyway. We were excited until I realized that she would be in there with all of the sick kids, and that meant she would probably catch it. It was fun to watch her play with the other kids, but sure enough within three days we were in the Urgent care and then ER. She was given I.V. fluids, I.V. antibiotics, and we were sent home with a baby with the worse case of diarrhea in history (from the meds). We fought this illness for over a week, and then for two days no fever, until once again she got ill and then fever with flu symptoms set in. Then of course I had the good fortune of catching it with her. I have been sicker than I have been in years, and it has got me thinking about all of you young mothers out there who have mommy come when you have a baby (and she actually cleans, and pampers you), or show up when you are sick, or need someone to babysit. I just hope you appreciate what you have because if I could I would steal away those moms in a heartbeat! When I was sick when I was little I was told to pick up my own throw up. When my DH was sick he was left unattended for days at a time and seeing a doctor was out of the question. I want a Mommy!! Someone who shows up and makes everything and everyone better. For those moms out there who are still moms even when the kids are married and have kids of their own I say "thanks for your example, I hope to one day join your ranks!" Being sick STINKS!
