Diet? What is that?

I am not a person who likes to go hungry or diet. I don't think it is healthy. In fact, I feel if you are not making a lifestyle adjustment to being healthier permanent you are just temporarily torturing yourself. I have also found that you can eat pretty much anything you want so long as you work it off. Of course, that doesn't include as much of it as you want :-) With that said, here is what I have made from scratch this week;
2 pumpkin pies, turkey dinner with homemade stuffing, gravy, biscuits, and the works.
1 Lemon meringue pie
1 blueberry cheesecake
banana nut bread
Moms spaghetti recipe (double recipe) this is possibly the best spaghetti in the world and it tastes even better the second day!
Oatmeal raisin cookies
New York steaks, stuffed mushrooms, twice baked baked potato's-(I threw in a veggie salad so that counts for good diet points right?)
Stuffed pork chops with cinnamon apples, Italian green beans
Lasagna rolls, Mozzarella sticks, fried cucumber
Lion house rolls, and another batch to turn into Cinnamon rolls
Homemade biscuits with sausage and gravy (evidence that this high calorie and cholesterol filled ride is not allocated solely to evening meals)
A killer risotto, with Salmon(the salmon would have been healthy if not for the dill sauce made with sour cream and cream cheese)
and several other run of the mill items like sides, soups, salads, casseroles, etc.

It has been a fun week of cooking. I normally do not have the time to cook and bake all of these things, but I do enjoy it. I even worked on a new muffin recipe, and before everyone starts thinking "Good Grief!" Let me just state that at least once this week we were not eating this all ourselves as we had the missionaries over for dinner. They were very happy though, and I imagine will want to come again. One liked dinner so much he didn't have room for dessert (he was happy to take it with him though), and both said that it was a good thing they were driving or they would have gotten stomach cramps from riding their bikes. This does mean however that I am in need of a great deal of working out for the next month or two. It is not a diet though, it is paying my dues :-)

Still a Dog Person

After three spills and one almost ketchup disaster I have to say. I am so thankful for one of these...
Because she makes having one of these...

So much easier!
