My life in Pictures Part 3

A few days ago we woke up to "fog as thick as pea soup" I was in heaven. When you grow up in Minnesota for the first few years of life and you visit throughout your life you become accustomed to the sight of fog. When I was three I can remember sitting in the back of the family station wagon and saying "Daddy! It's Froggy outside!" I love the fog and so when we woke to a lack of visibility at around twenty feet I had to go for a walk and take a picture. Love it, but I wish I were closer to a more natural environment to enjoy it more.

What do you do when you have expensive ornaments that cost anywhere from $5 to $50 a piece, but you also have a two year old? You go to the dollar store, stop becoming frustrated with said two year old, and leave the ribbon garland in the box. After two days, you also remove the tree skirt because repositioning it every AM and PM is starting to take way to long. Then you take a picture to remind you that you are glad that you have need of dollar store ornaments and no tree skirt because if you didn't you wouldn't hear "Mommy, is Kissmas!" everytime you drive anywhere and the two year old see's decorations or even a green traffic light.

Then when the older two start complaining about the lack of garland, the lack of their previously purchased ornaments, you purchase a kid tree (thank you Lara for the idea), and buy them dollar store ornaments-ignoring the mismatched colors.

My life in Pictures Part 2

This past Halloween was almost like a dream because it flew by way to fast for my taste. One of our favorite traditions is going to the various fall festivals and trunk or treats. I continue to protest the moving of Halloween if it falls on Sunday, but in this state I am vastly outnumbered. I was raised religious and we celebrated Halloween on whatever day it fell on when I was growing up. To my knowledge I will not be damned for it. The girls all went in costumes given to us by my sister-in-law, and with a few items purchased by me. Rorie was recognized as Hermione wherever we went and loved it. Caitlin had a witch hat that I bought to go with the frock, but didn't want to wear it. She loves to march to her own drum. THe baby went as a pegasus/unicorn. Apparently the makers of the costume don't realize the difference, but was she ever cute. I want a baby cow, it was so sweet and soft. No one ate beef for the next week, but eventual the desire for a burger outweighed our disgust.

After several peices of candy and several rides and a petting zoo the little one finaly succumbed to exhaustion. I went to put her costume in the wash and came back to this...

This was on our trip in August. We were literally driving through the clouds at 6000 ft. elevation. It was so beautiful, but the camera didn't capture it so well.
